Faulhaber provides more power in the hand

26 November 2015

The new 2668-CR dc motor from Faulhaber is the most powerful copper-graphite commutated dc micro-motor in its size class on the market.

This highly dynamic motor, which can be combined with high-resolution optical or magnetic encoders, reaches full power very quickly with its high pulse torque making it ideal for high-performance handheld tools and medical devices. Thanks to a bigger NdFeB magnet and a high density copper content in the winding, it delivers a continuous rated torque of 70mNm from only 26mm in diameter and weighs just 189g.

The copper-graphite brushes of the motor are characterised by their outstanding stability and low wear. As well as handheld devices, the 2668-CR is also suitable for many other applications such as in aerospace, robotics, medical technology, in special machinery construction, metering systems and automation systems.

Faulhaber specialises in the development, production and deployment of high-precision small and miniaturised drive systems, servo components and drive electronics with output power of up to 200W. The product range includes brushless motors, dc micro-motors, encoders and motion controllers. In addition, the company offers customer-specific packages for a variety of applications, including medical technology, automatic placement machinery, precision optics, aerospace systems and robotics

The 2668-CR is available exclusively in the UK from EMS. EMS not only distributes a range of dc, brushless dc and stepper motors, but also offers customers a UK based design and manufacturing service.

With a comprehensive design team and 30,000 ft² manufacturing facility equipped with 24 CNC machine tools including 5-axis capability and 40+ gear cutting machines EMS is well positioned to design and manufacture bespoke drives for all customer needs.
