Enclosures meet customer requirements

22 August 2007

The requirement for customised enclosures to meet specific customer requirements is ever increasing as companies strive to differentiate their products from competitors in their own market.

In recognition of this trend, Hitaltech are pleased to introduce their XT range of products. Through developing a concept of flexible tooling, Hitaltech can now offer customised versions of their current product ranges at a relatively low cost. To date, the Support, Modulbox and Incabox product are now available in the XT range with the rest of the Hitaltech range set to follow suit.

The Support XT represents the next generation of open PCB-holders used to house PCB’s on a DIN rail mounting system. The main benefit of the Support XT is that the customer can easily assemble the product using two identical halves that are plugged together without the need for screws.

These two halves incorporate the closing element and DIN Rail hook which can be supplied to the exact dimension required by the customer. The Support XT will require customers to order only one unique product code, which therefore assists them in their efforts to lower costs through reduced stocking and assembly time.

Now available up to 12 modules wide, the Modulbox XT has been restyled to offer improved aesthetics and increased internal volume to accommodate larger components and/or improved airflow. A new concept in modular tooling enables custom inserts to be developed for all four sides of the enclosure, allowing customers to have their own unique design. Low cost inserts allow openings to be created during the moulding process, thus eliminating the need for expensive machining.

Three main types of enclosure are being offered. Type A has a two step shape similar to the existing Modulbox range. Type B has two steps on one side of the box and a high side on the other. Type C has high sides on both sides of the box, giving a significant increase in internal volume. All existing Modulbox sizes from 1 to 9 modules are included, as well as a new 12 module size. Existing terminal covers and front panels are also compatible with the new range of enclosures.

The Incabox XT is a panel-mounted enclosure manufactured to DIN43700. The Incabox XT has a front panel which can be customised to meet specific customer requirements. This panel-mounting enclosure can be easily assembled as no fixing screws are required due to it’s snap-lock mechanism.

All the Incabox XT components (front panel, rear panel and fastening elements) are made of plastic material enabling the insulation of the internal electronics. The enclosure is held in the correct position on the panel by the fastening elements after the enclosure is assembled.
