You can trust your life with springs and components from Goss

An extremely important part of Goss' capability is the design and supply of ultra high precision components for the medical industry.
"We have been supplying the medical industry for years and one application we are particularly proud of was the design and supply of components used in equipment for the treatment of cancer," says Dan Goss. "Some components and springs we have made are so small that you have to use our VMM machine with 200x magnification to even see the component.”
This is an environment worlds away from designing and supplying components for household, automotive, aerospace or even defence applications. Yet in all of these industries, the essential requirement and expectation of the customer is that the component will work safely and repeatedly.
Goss' wealth of experience and high level of vertically integrated manufacturing and inspection techniques support them in providing components ranging from those designed for multiple actuations to those that may only need to operate the one time, such as fighter pilot safety systems.
Where medical devices are concerned, manufacturing tolerances are extremely tight - not just because of the physical size of the components but also the essential safety critical nature of the applications for which they are destined. Sophisticated materials are often required, such as platinum iridium used in the heating coil of cauterising equipment used in gynaecological procedures.
Material specific life cycle testing is just one part of the overall service offered to ensure that safety critical components provide years of safe and reliable operation.
Goss is ISO 9001, TS16949 (Automotive) and AS9100 (Aerospace) accredited.
