Free lean manufacturing seminars
03 September 2007
Expert advice, practical demonstrations and opportunities for one-to-one discussions are key features of the lean manufacturing seminars currently being organised by Bosch Rexroth in conjunction with The Lean Factory Group. The seminars, each of which lasts for around four hours, are being held during October in the following locations: Treforest, Bradford and Leicester. No charge is made for attending, but advance booking is essential as space is strictly limited.
Set up with the express intention of spreading the benefits of lean manufacturing, The Lean Factory Group has four members: hardware supplier Bosch Rexroth, manufacturing consultancy Leonardo Group, KANBAN card provider Orgatex, and C-component supplier Wuerth. During the seminars, experts from the member companies of The Lean Factory Group will demonstrate how to build an assembly line using the lean concept.
The topics they will cover include value stream mapping, work content and workplace design (in terms of one-piece flow), dimensioning of the KANBAN control loop, design of KANBAN boards, the customer order in the ERP system, levelling, and the design of Heijunka boards.
All of the presentations are based on a practical assembly line, and will provide guidance not only on the preparation of the line, but also simulation of a number of typical real-life scenarios. Those attending the seminars will also have ample opportunity for personal consultations with the expert presenters, as well as to compare experiences with other attendees, to network and to discuss current trends.
Further details of the Lean Manufacturing Seminars can be found on the Bosch Rexroth website at www.boschrexroth.co.uk/leanfactory. Alternatively, those wishing to attend can contact Mark Dash at Bosch Rexroth by phone on 0116 2814488, or by sending an email to email@example.com.
