EYSE is a personal 3D companion that lets you live in the moment

12 May 2016

Vairdo launches EYSE on Kickstarter, the Wi-Fi-connected companion that lets you share and experience moments in live, real 3D vision, sound & motion.

EYSE, from Vairdo, has twin cameras that capture simultaneous videos from two perspectives to create an immersive 3D experience for the remote viewer over a direct Wi-Fi connection. EYSE also has bi-directional audio and sends inertial and motion data to the viewer, giving them an immersive 'in the moment' experience of all the action.

The way human eyes work is to focus themselves on an object at the same time, giving the brain two views of the same object. The separated views help in creating depth due to the separation between the eyes (65-70mm).

The EYSE does the same thing: it focuses on the same object with a pair of eyes. The processing unit of EYES (Digital Brain or BrainBox) assembles the images and through computing and compression, outputs the format most suitable to be projected to the natural eyes of a person. The bi-convex lenses correct the flat view of the cameras and wrap them in a circular format to make scenes look immersive.

Two high definition cameras

EYSE has two HD, five Mega-pixel cameras (upgradeable to 13 Mega-pixel) that record simultaneously for a dual-perspective video and an undistorted field of view. Micro-gimbal mechanisms regulate camera motion and improve image stability. Cameras pivot with 110° of motion within the eye-sockets.

Users can simply power the camera on or off by pushing a single button and access and control EYSE and data, images and videos remotely and securely with a smartphone.

VR headset compatible

EYSE will work with virtual reality headsets. The EYSE Beta Kit includes a headset that will be compatible with Android and iOS Phones. Experience a live, real-time 3D feed from an EYSE or playback a recorded 3D movie on your smartphone. Just slide the smartphone into a headset to view.

EYSE has six integrated, customised shock absorbers. Pads within the camera buffer against vibrations and cushion impact. The isolated suspension is an innovation to protect the camera.

It also has water-resistant casings that can be used underwater and in damp climates. The camera anchors for stability with sport camera mounts and action cam accessories, on the wrist, bike, wall, drone and more. EYSE has twin GPS units (active and passive), for better location tracking and reliability/redundancy.

Swappable covers

Choose different colors of the housing, or customise the colours on the fly with it's powerful RGB colour palette in the App.

Standard li-ion batteries

Two to eight hours of use before re-charge/hot-cold battery-swap, depending on battery capacity and live 3D streaming, resolution, recording, other-features turned on, etc. The package will come with pre-installed batteries and for the higher end models, extra batteries are included as well.
