12 May 2016

Google introduces Tilt Brush, its new app that allows users to paint life-size three-dimensional brush strokes, stars, light and fire whilst wearing a VR headset.

The Tilt Brush has the potential to change the design industry. Fashion designers can paint with textured fabrics such as denim, silk and cotton. Designers can create to scale and walk around their work whilst in progress.

Users wearing a HTC Vive headset, connected to the app can create wonders from ink and smoke to snow and fire, exploring the world of a virtual palette. Designers can even share their creations at room-scale or bite-sized animated GIFs.

In three simple steps you can be painting in 3D:

1. Set up HTC Vive

2. Install Steam and launch Tilt Brush

3. Get creating!
