MCERTS accreditation for continuous emission monitoring system from Siemens
15 June 2016
Siemens UK & Ireland’s continuous emission monitoring system, Set CEM CERT, has been awarded MCERTS certification, ensuring users can comply with stringent Environment Agency regulations.
Set CEM CERT is a standardised and certified continuous emission monitoring system under EN15267-3, which is suitable for use in plants which need to comply with UK and European legislation. Under MCERTS, it is certified to measure wide ranges of CO, NOx, NO, NO2, SO2 and O2 emissions making it ideal for use in combustion and CCGT applications.
The complete & tested modular measuring system is composed of a sampling probe, heated sample gas line, a two stage sample gas cooler, a gas pump and the multi-component analysers, ULTRAMAT 23 and SIPROCESS UV600. However, due to the modular design, approved system components from different manufacturers can also be used, allowing for maximum flexibility.
For optimum performance and protection in rugged environments, each gas analyser is protected by a condensate barrier. The sample gas coolers also have a moisture alarm which stops the gas flow in case of malfunction. For straightforward maintenance, each analyser is separately supplied with sample gas, meaning they can be individually serviced without affecting the other. MCERT MC160288/00 issued 24 March 2016 applies.
Shawn Pullman, Product Manager – CGA & Laser, at Siemens UK & Ireland comments: “The addition of UK MCERTS certification to our integrated gas analysis package means we’re able to offer customers greater assurance that by using our products and services, they are equipped to meet industry regulations and challenges now, and in the future. We are committed to building on our solutions and product certifications to continue to deliver the very best in process safety and efficiency for customers, across industry.”
