The next generation of Pokémon Go with smart sneakers
19 August 2016
Vixole has created a prototype of an e-sneaker that is fitted with navigational sensors that vibrate and light up the shoe when a Pokémon is near.
Built-in vibrating sensors pair with map applications to provide distinct vibrations to help you to navigate on journeys or, in this case, the shoes can be synced to the Pokémon Go app and cleverly vibrate whenever a Pokémon is near.
Perhaps the most innovative part of the shoe is its flexible LED display. This can be programmed by the wearer to display any visual they want, users have a whole host of Pokémon to choose from!
Known as the Vixole Matrix, the shoe is available in three natural colours; black, white and beige. It comes integrated with a wireless charging station, allowing you to charge the shoes by simply placing them on the station. One charge equals eight hours of battery life.
Still in its early stages, the start-up company will feature it product on Kickstarter in September. It has been suggested the pricing will be approximately £150 ($200).
