Radical design eliminates issues associated with flat tyres

25 August 2016

The Michelin X Tweel Turf is one single unit that replaces current tyres and with no air pressure to maintain, they can’t be popped by sharp objects.

Designed for use on zero turn radius mowers, the tyres feature multi-directional tread patterns to provide efficient side hill stability and prevent damage. The zero degree belts and ComposiCoil proprietary design provides great lateral stiffness while resisting damage and absorbing impacts. Highly strong poly-resin spokes carry the load and absorb impacts, while damping the ride and providing an energy transfer that reduces the ‘bounce’ even when going over curbs and bumps. The heavy gauge steel with four bolt hub pattern fits onto a variety of mowers.

The Michelin X Tweel Turf performs like a pneumatic tyre but without the risk and costly downtime associated with flat tyres. Once bolted on, there is no air pressure to maintain and the common problem of unseated beads is eliminated. The tyres have a consistent hub height that ensure the mower performs an even cut and the full-width poly-resin spokes provide stability when moving on an incline. The high-performance compounds and efficient contact patch offer a long wear life that is two-three times longer than pneumatic tyres with the same tread depth.
