'Make Great' program to train future manufacturing leaders
19 October 2016
EEF launched a new leadership and development program to help companies train future manufacturing leaders, keeping the UK at the forefront of the Industry 4.0.
With the increasing demand for skills in manufacturing and the significant leadership gap impacting on the productivity of many businesses, the new management and skills development program, ‘Make Great’ is aimed at helping businesses recruit, retain and develop the right skills to address the digital revolution ahead.
According to EEF research, the need to improve productivity has led to almost two thirds of manufacturers increasing demand for people management, whilst a similar number are looking for increased leadership skills. Companies reported that their effort on workforce skills development is having a significant and positive impact on company productivity over the past two years.
To meet this demand, one of the leading training providers in the UK with unique insight into advising manufacturing companies, EEF, has created specially tailored and bespoke programs to help companies on coaching and mentoring, people management, strategic change and sustainability.
There are four key areas of expertise available to companies under the ‘Make Great’ program, including qualifications and courses at all levels from the Institute for Leadership Management and Chartered Management Institute:
• Retaining and recruiting talent
• Coaching and mentoring
• People performance & skills management
• Strategic change management and restructuring
Details of the ‘Make Great’ program from EEF can be found at eef.org.uk/training or by following @EEF_Insights and #makegreat.
