20 February 2017

Mercedes AMG and Cigarette Racing have teamed up to launch a new 2017 speed boat, the 50’ Marauder AMG, inspired by the Mercedes AMG GT R.

Unveiled at the Miami International Boat Show, the Marauder AMG boasts high-speed design and improved dynamics. Carbon fibre was the main material used in the construction of this boat, meaning it could shed more than 590kg. The deck, cockpit and consoles were developed using advanced laminate analysis techniques and are also made from carbon fibre, with a foam core.

The boat is powered by a pair of Mercury Racing 1550/1350 QC4v (Quad Cam 4 Valve) engines and M8 stern drives, delivering up to 3,100hp. The driver can switch engine power levels through an electronic key fob thanks to the dual calibration engines. The ‘race fob’ unlocks up to 1,550hp, needing race fuel and the ‘pleasure fob’ is used at 1,350hp with 91 octane fuel.

Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer for Daimler AG was enlisted to design the paint and detailing.

The price of this one-of-a-kind boat from the Cigarette Racing Team is available upon request. For additional information on Cigarette Racing, visit
