Top Gear’s driver The Stig broke the land speed record for a bumper car at the Bentwaters Airfield, Suffolk. Official Guinness World Record adjudicator Lucia Sinigagliesi said “we’re all used to seeing The Stig driving at high speeds – but he’s usually in a sports car and usually on a race track”.

The average bumper car can reach around 5mph but, thanks to Colin Furze, The Stig’s car reached a whopping 100.3mph! Furze achieved this by installing a 100 horsepower 600cc Honda motorbike engine. He restored the dodgem in just three weeks and has produced a two part video series with the details.
