This biodegradable edible 'bubble' replaces bottles

Skipping Rocks Lab presents water you can eat with Ooho, a little capsule made from plants and seaweed designed to replace plastic bottles.

Skipping Rocks Lab is on a mission to make packaging waste a thing of the past. Ooho is a sustainable packaging alternative to plastic bottles and cups, made from 100 percent plants and seaweed. Just like fruit, its biodegradable in just 4-6 weeks so has very little impact on the environment. The packaging is cheaper than plastic and can hold numerous different liquids.

The Ooho comes in flexible sachets, drunk by easily tearing a hole in the capsule and drinking or swallowing whole. 

For 2 years, Skipping Rocks Lab have been developing the material and innovative production technology, for which it has recently filed a patent application. It is supported by the Climate-KIC accelerator based at Imperial College London.
