New adhesives for aircraft interiors from Chemique
29 March 2018
Chemique Adhesives has launched an innovative range of adhesives that have been developed specifically to meet the needs of the aircraft interiors industry.
The new Aerotak range features solvent-based and water-based products for use in the manufacture of aircraft seat covers and cushions and provides users with versatile, reliable and easy-to-use options for bonding a wide range of material combinations including fabric, leather, foam, e-leather and scrim.
The range includes both flammable and non-flammable formulations that are particularly well suited for use in the manufacture of style pads that use a hot press stamping method and Aerotak’s CAS 201FR adhesive is specified worldwide by many leading airlines for bonding seat covers.
Also included in the range is a foam and fabric adhesive that supports aircraft seat fabrication, as the spray coverage results in a high-quality adhesive that provides a resilient, permanent bond.
All of the adhesives in the Aerotak range meet the stringent flammability certification requirements of CS 25.853(a) Amdt.16 App.F Pt.I(a)(1)(ii) & (b)(4).
“As a business, we are committed to offering cost-effective high-performance, solutions for all of our customers’ bonding requirements, no matter how specialised those might be,” explained Stuart Francis, Managing Director at Chemique Adhesives.
“The new Aerotak range is a demonstration of this commitment in action. We’ve looked carefully at the needs of the aircraft interiors manufacturing sector, and we’ve developed our Aerotak products to meet these needs. Adhesives in the range are easy to work with, yet they offer strong permanent bonding, as well as meeting all relevant safety standards. We are confident that these innovative products will deliver big savings in time and money for our customers, and will stand the test of time in even the most demanding of environments.”
