In 2018, it’s totally unnecessary to lose the things you care about!

19 June 2018

Tail it technologies is launching 4 new affordable GPS trackers on Kickstarter all with global range and connection to the cellular network.

These new GPS trackers that Tail it are launching are all independent units which work all the places on earth where phones have coverage. Which is pretty much everywhere.

The GPS tracking technology is nothing new. It has been around for many years, both for businesses, tracking shipment, cars etc. where the unit updates its position on a predetermined refresh rate. The big thing about Tail it is the unit’s firmware, which only updates position on significant change of position or when you need it and when combining this with less amount of data transfer plus WI-FI updates when entering and leaving WI-FI areas, the trackers battery usage is reduced significantly. This is the secret behind the new global range GPS trackers that are so small that they fit on your key-chain, your cat, purse, bike or even in your daughter’s backpack with the battery lasting for weeks and months on a single charge.

In 2016 Tail it became one of the largest distributors of GPS watches for kids in Europe. In 2017 Tail it developed their new firmware based on significant change of location and cellular network, prolonging the battery time on their products at the same time making the products much smaller. The research and development of Tail it’s new firmware is supported by the Norwegian government research council, which in comparison is the same scholarship given to May-Britt and Edvart Moser for their research granting them the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2014, so this is not something the Norwegian Government is giving away to anyone.

“After the soft-launch, Tail it received many requests from craftsmen and companies that have equipment that they want to track. This can be expensive equipment or shared equipment that companies take a long time to locate”, said Morten Sæthre, CEO and Founder of Tail it technologies AS.

The new Tail it Bike is a new type of tracking device hidden inside the bike. This device will also notify if someone is stealing your bike. With a full six week battery life, this new tracker revolutionises the market. “I think all bicycles above a certain value will be equipped with a GPS in the future. Losing a bike in 2018 when we have access to these kinds of technology is a total waste”, Morten continues.

Tail it will continue developing their new tracking firmware that goes along with their free friends and family location application. The application was developed so that customers that bought their GPS watches for kids could keep track of the older kids in the family which did not have this watch, but owned their own smartphone. This made this application into one united place for all the people you care about.

The global range, eight weeks battery time, wireless charging and easy set-up in the Tail it app makes the big difference from earlier types of tracking products. Also its much cheaper than most GPS trackers, especially trackers with global range which are usually much bigger and more expensive.
