How a partnership with ABB allowed UK boiler manufacturer to digitalise

When UK boiler manufacturer Byworth Boilers redeveloped its digital control offering, it partnered with ABB to deliver a distributed control system (DCS) for precise control of temperature in the food and beverage market. 

Despite the innovations made in food processing environments over the last two dec-ades, steam is still one of the most efficient ways of moving large volumes of heat around a plant. It is also ideally suited to food-contact environments thanks to its ability to sterilise surfaces and equipment.

Temperature control

One of the biggest challenges faced by food and beverage manufacturers is precise temperature control. This is essential in ensuring that food is cooked evenly as any hotspots could overcook and render certain batches useless.
