Is this the smallest GPRS module in the world?
13 June 2008
Alpha Micro Components has added the SAGEM HiLo module to its portfolio of networking products. The new module is as small as a postage stamp and addresses the demand for the latest GPRS technology for embedded M2M communication.
Featuring GPRS quad-band with embedded TCP/IP stacks, SAGEM HiLo is perfectly suited to applications that have space limitations such as point of sale terminals, trackers and security. With its extremely small size - 27x27 mm - and weight - 4 grams - the SAGEM HiLo is believed to be the smallest wireless M2M module available on the market.
The SAGEM HiLo’s very low power consumption (<1,5mA in idle mode) and guaranteed 3.2 V minimum power supply make it the best solution for battery-powered devices. In addition, its extended operational temperature range – from -40°C to 85°C - is ideal for the automotive sector.
