DPA has never been in doubt about the need to connect its readers with component, material and service suppliers. However, along with the rest of the country, we began to encounter a new obstacle in mid-March. The country went into lockdown and essential services are now facing the challenge of not only finding suppliers, but finding ones that continued to operate. Recognising this, we at DPA set up an Essential Suppliers Directory on our website – completely free of charge –  to help engineers navigate these uncertain times.

However, DPA is also conscious that, in the current climate, the need for reliable, instantaneous information about the world of engineering is absolutely vital – now more than ever. Engineering has been acknowledged as a vital business to lift the country back to financial health. Therefore, it is essential that engineers are kept informed of the latest developments within industry, so they can not only protect their own businesses in the long term, but also play their part in securing the future of the UK’s economy.

As a result, DPA’s social media is dedicated to keeping its followers and connections updated, so engineers can face these challenges head-on. It is here to tell you how companies are responding to the current crisis, and how you can do the same. Above all, it is designed to show you that, despite the current crisis, the world of engineering is still very much turning!

LinkedIn and Twitter have proven to be vital tools for keeping our readers informed on the day and in the moment. We, therefore, urge you to join the conversation and follow Design, Products & Applications magazine on LinkedIn and @DPAONTHENET on Twitter today.
