Social distancing screens to support a return to the workplace

13 August 2020

RS Components (RS) is now offering a wide range of protection screens from Bosch Rexroth, designed to support social distancing in the workplace.

As businesses begin to reopen their doors and reinstate workers, social distancing in the workplace will become the new normal. The screens, comprising a frame and either clear or solid screens, provide the perfect solution to keeping employees separated in the workplace. Clear screens allow desks and other workspaces to be separated when physical distancing is not an option.

Using the screens, employers can offer their staff increased personal protection but without incurring excessive disruption to the workplace. This enables more employees to go back to work while still observing government guidelines on social distancing.

"The Rexroth screens offer the ideal compromise between increased social distancing and employee reintroduction," explained Craig Allan, Portfolio Manager at RS. "By installing the screens between desks or workspaces, employees are protected from close physical contact while still having full freedom of mobility."

Bosch Rexroth has developed the range to be extremely configurable. The lightweight aluminium frames are available in heights of 1200 and 2000mm, with widths of 1000, 1500 and 2000mm. The 1200mm frames feature a panel that fills the entire frame, while the 2000mm frames can be fitted with 1000mm panels in both the upper and lower sections of the frame, or just the upper half.

For partitioning desks or workbenches, it may only be necessary to provide a screen in the top of the frame. In a common area, such as reception, 2000mm frames with full panels may be more appropriate. With various panel widths and fitting kits available, the range allows more complex partitions with corners to be constructed in open areas, or to enclose a desk on three sides, for example.

The closed-profile frames are easy to clean using most widely available cleaning agents including ammonia and alcohol-based solutions, thus preventing contamination.

The Rexroth Social Distancing Screen range is available now from RS in EMEA.
