LAC Conveyors & Automation partners with Prime Robotics in the UK

12 October 2020

LAC Conveyors & Automation, part of the LAC Group, have been awarded the exclusive rights to sell and promote a wide range of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) designed and manufactured by Prime Robotics.

Prime Robotics is a technology company in the area of versatile and agile AMR technology, headquartered in Denver, Colorado (USA). Prime Robotics has proven its worth in the United States by saving warehouses facing the dilemma of “automate or die”. Its range of innovative products include AMR’s to transport shelves and pallets, plus the new self-driven inventory shelf.

CEO of LAC Group, Chris Unwin said, “I’m delighted to secure this exclusive partnership with Prime Robotics. Its fantastic range of AMR’s will not only enhance our existing automation offering but contribute towards the goal of growing market share of automation projects within the logistics and manufacturing sectors.”

Eric Rongley, Founder and CEO of Prime Robotics expressed his excitement, “I’m proud to begin our partnership with LAC to bring our logistics robots to the UK market. Brexit and the coronavirus pandemic have put strains on supply chains in the UK and together Prime and LAC provide complimentary products that form a compelling solution for warehouse operators and manufacturers.”

The demand for automation has significantly increased during 2020. The coronavirus pandemic caused a manual labour shortage, coupled with the change of consumer buying habits, caused ‘overwhelming’ demand within the logistics industry in particular. More businesses are questioning their current processes and looking towards automation and robotics solutions, to be able to meet the flexibility of changing customers’ demands.

Plans are in the making to open a demonstration centre in the UK which will enable customers to experience a fully functioning automated warehouse solution in person. The centre will distribute real products and feature pick stations, multiple rack combinations, Prime Robotics’ AMR range plus LAC’s conveyor systems and automation solutions.
