Triaxial accelerometer is tough and sensitive

25 September 2008

The Type 8765A miniature triaxial accelerometer from Kistler Instruments is designed for industrial environments at temperatures from -55°C to 165°C and acceleration of ±250g with minimal sensitivity variation due to temperature. The triaxial design allows shock and vibration measurements in three orthogonal axis using the PiezoStar sensing element and integrated high-gain hybrid electronics in a hermetically sealed titanium case. Suitable for applications requiring a combination of rugged construction, high temperature capability and long-term reliability, the Type 8765A accelerometer is only 15mm square and 8.6mm high and weighs only 6.4 grams.

Mounting is by wax, adhesive or a single screw through the central hole. The signal output is by a miniature 4-pin ceramic insulated connector and the case is ground isolated to ensure signal integrity.

Offering high sensitivity over a wide frequency range at elevated temperatures, the Type 8765A triaxial accelerometer proves ideal for a wide range of vibration and shock measuring applications.
