Compact actuators offer high power density

Wittenstein Motion Control's TPM+ servo actuator product family recently acquired a new member. The TPM+ dynamic is joined by the TPM+ power – a very large-scale integrated product with superior power density. The TPM+ power servo actuator series offers high torque and compactness. The total length saving is around fifty percent compared witho conventional gearhead motors.

The TPM+ power is available in a single-stage version – suitable for linear rack-and-pinion applications – or as a two-stage actuator for rotary drive tasks, the helical design ensuring smooth running and low noise levels. Wittenstein's permanent magnet synchronous motors also offer high power density as well as low cogging. A backlash-free permanent magnet brake is available as an option.

Shaft position is provided by resolver or precision optical encoder via EnDat and Hiperface protocols.
