Non-stop safety system
12 December 2008
Systems integration specialist Hima-Sella is introducing HIMax, the latest HIMA safety product into the UK. HIMax complements the existing HIMA range of HIQuad, HIMatrix and Planar 4 and is the only safety system designed to guarantee uninterrupted system operation throughout the life of a processing facility.
HIMax is based on HIMA’s revolutionary NONSTOP XMR technology which utilises testing and diagnostics to achieve safety integrity level 3 (SIL 3). It also has scalable, fault-tolerant architecture, which eliminates false trips and allows unlimited changes, modifications, expansions, upgrades and regulatory proof testing to be carried out, without taking the plant off-line.
All safety-critical applications in the process industry can be implemented with HIMax including, for example, emergency shutdown systems (ESD), burner management systems (BMS), fire & gas systems (F&G), turbo machinery control (TMC), or pipeline automation. Having flexible system architecture, various rack sizes, different assembly and wiring concepts, centralized and distributed installations means that HIMax can easily be adapted for virtually all application requirements. Its flexibility allows for integration into any distributed control system (DCS) and by using open-standard protocols guaranteed by HIMA, enables customers to choose the best DCS for their plant.
Andy Tonge, Hima-Sella sales manager, says: “The UK launch of HIMax means that Hima-Sella - as sole UK distributor - can now offer clients more choice and a product that will deliver tangible operational cost benefits. In November, we received our first HIMax order from a major blue chip company, which clearly demonstrates the confidence customers have in this exciting new product.”
