Click Stick and Win – 3M Adhesives helps winners 'Go Ape'

11 May 2009

Rapidly find the right adhesive for your application, get free samples and the chance to win – that’s the news from 3M. The company's Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division has launched an novel web based tapes and adhesive selector, aimed at helping industrial users find which products are best suited to their applications. The selector, which can be found online at, allows users to specify functional requirements and generates a list of suggested products. 3M will then send samples to industrial users, allowing tests to be carried out.

Users select application features which are important to them, such as the substrates to be joined, UV and abrasive resistance. The system then generates a range of possible adhesives or tape options. 3M’s range provides sticking and bonding solutions for almost every conceivable surface, temperature or climate situation and strength requirement. Solutions range from simple box sealing tapes to EPX structural adhesives.

The web selector not only provides a simple way to obtain samples for test, but also offers the opportunity for users to win team focused prizes in a weekly draw. Worth £100, winners can choose between baskets of fruit or muffins delivered to the office, a new coffee machine or magazine subscription. Monthly, one lucky user of the product selector can choose a team activity worth £500. For up to 10 colleagues, the choice includes a range of ‘bonding’ activities, such as paintballing, go-karting, quad biking, white water rafting or the Go Ape high wire forest adventure.

Emily Wilkes of the 3M Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division, says: “Selecting the correct adhesive solution can be complex, but the new selector aims to make identifying potential products for trial straightforward. Also, for the duration of ‘Click Stick and Win’, it will be both easy to obtain samples for detailed testing and users have the chance to win a team event or treat.
