New range of coils broadens use of solenoid valves in hazardous areas

28 July 2009

Parker Hannifin has introduced ATEX certified 37mm electrical coils for use on its Lucifer range of stainless steel solenoid valves as well as the brass and aluminum X valves. These coils broaden the usability of these valves in hazardous areas. They are ATEX and IECEX certified, and are dedicated to stainless steel 2/2, 3/2 valves as well as 4/2 & 5/2 way valves. The “d mb” and “ia” ATEX certified products meet T6 temperature classes.

By using the ‘booster’ technology for the “ia” product the current consumption is reduced (20 - 15 mA , activation then holding) allowing usage in all markets where intrinsically safe electrical circuits are normal (IS barriers and remote I/O modules).

This new 37 mm CPR range gives customers in the process market the opportunity to benefit from the features of the current successful 37 mm “d mb” classic range, with the same ’international innovative patented ‘ATEX flameproof plastic enclosure “d”’, resulting in reduced size and weight, attractive design, and reduced costs when compared with traditional cast iron solutions.
