maxon motors are toughened up for industrial use
01 July 2010
maxon motor has expanded its range of motors for tough working environments, by releasing industrial versions of its RE 50 and RE 65 units, along with a new AB 44 permanent magnet brake. With outputs rated at 200 and 250W respectively, the two brushed dc motors have been upgraded to IP54 protection rating.
Each has a sealed aluminium housing and PG cable fittings, while the shaft is secured with a radial seal. Between them, the motors offer operating speeds of up to 9,500rpm, and efficiencies in the region of 85-90%.
The new AB 44 mounted brake is similarly IP54 rated and will operate at temperatures from -30 to +100°C, with validation for even wider ranges available upon request. Braking torque is 2.5Nm.
