Inserts Are Right For Thin-Section Thermoplastics

01 August 2000

Tappex has introduced a family of headed, short-length inserts for use
with thin-section thermoplastic and thermoset materials with a tensile
strength less than 100MPa and some degree of resilience. The Microbarb
Multisert range is primarily for use in a pull-through mode, where insert
creep is eliminated by contact with the mating part and front face of the
insert, as well as the underside of the insert head on the host material.
Tappex sees a large market for these components in vacuum formed,
rotational moulded and fabricated parts.
