Rapid bonding from 3M for BigHead and similar mechanical fasteners

3M has introduced a two-part hybrid technology structural adhesive that can save days when bonding bigHead and general fasteners. 3M Scotch-Weld epoxy-acrylic 7271 B/A will instantly secure bigHead and other mechanical fasteners and is suitable for a wide variety of substrates, including composites, GRP, epoxy-based resins, aluminium and stainless steel. Dispensed using the easy to use 3M Scotch-Weld EPX system, the adhesive can be applied with a manual or pneumatic handheld applicator.

According to 3M, 7271 B/A can instantly hold mechanical fixings unlike commonly used two-part acrylic adhesives which can take anything up to three hours to hold fixtures. Moreover, this ‘instant grab’ adhesive is odourless, eliminating the need for a respirator to protect against odour during use, and can be applied vertically or even upside down without the adhesive dripping.
