Intrinsically saf, panel-mounting instrument introduced
BEKA Associates has introduced an intrinsically safe, panel-mounting
instrument, designated BA488C, that displays text and simple graphics in
a hazardous area. The ATEX Group II Category 1G (EEx ia IIC T5) certified
unit is sealed at the front panel to IP65, and features an 86x45mm
high-contrast backlit LCD screen that can be viewed in all ambient light
conditions. Power and bi-directional data are transmitted from the safe
area via galvanic isolators. Up to four displays can be connected to one
IS circuit and 14 of them will connect to a single multi-drop system.
