Hose accreditation programme is launched by the BFPA
21 April 2006
Hydraulic power is accepted technology across the world. It drives mobile and fixed industrial machines and equipment of all types and sizes, from micro systems to industrial robots, monster earth movers, diggers and dredgers. The hoses they use deliver power between fixed components on moving parts such as steering arms, lifting grabs, etc. As such they have to be flexible enough to take up considerable movement yet strong enough to withstand immense pressure.
The UK’s foremost professional trade body in the field of hydraulics, The British Fluid Power Association, has launched a hose accreditation programme that is open to all distributors of hydraulic hoses sold in the UK. Those who subscribe to the scheme will have had their manufacturing processes screened and approved by the BFPA whose function is to ensure that companies selling only the highest quality products carry the ‘Q’ Approved Hose Assemblies logo. Once accredited, member companies are inspected every two years.
Purchasers can rest assured that hoses from distributors authorised to display the ‘Q’ Approved Hose Assemblies logo were made to exacting standards at every stage in their production.
Ensuring the safety of staff, the integrity of equipment and protection of the environment is no longer an option, today it is a legal obligation. Hoses displaying the ‘Q’ Approved Hose Assemblies logo will help ensure compliance.
Hose distributors, suppliers and installers can all carry the ‘Q’ mark as part of their vehicle livery and on their headed paper. Those who do will be proud to display it as a badge of consumer confidence.
