BASF raises prices for engineering plastics in Europe

27 April 2006

BASF will increase its prices for all engineering plastics in Europe by 200 Euro per metric ton. This includes compounded Ultramid®/Capron®/Miramid® (PA), Ultradur® (PBT), Ultraform® (POM) and Ultrason® (PES/PSU). The global increase in feedstock prices, energy and transportation costs forces BASF to implement higher prices for these products.

Engineering plastics such as polyamide (PA), polyoxy-methylene (POM), polyether sulfone and polysulfone (PES/PSU) as well as polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) are employed throughout the techni-cal world and in our daily life, in automotive construction, in the electric & electronics realm, in mechanical engineering as well as in households, in offices and in recreation.
