HMI panels provide single-point programming

Trio Motion Technology’s new UNIPLAY HMI touch screen displays allow applications to be developed faster and with increased simplicity by sharing motion control and graphical user interface programming in a single easy-to-use integrated software environment.
The 7in and 10in high contrast colour displays combine with all Trio MC4 Motion Coordinator multi-axis motion and machine controllers and the Motion Perfect v3 (MPv3) application development, configuration and connectivity software for drag and drop creation of versatile user interface screens that are transferred to the HMI via its Ethernet connection at runtime.
Creating screens inside MPv3 is made easy by dragging a series of preloaded scalable objects such as buttons, labels and text or numeric entry boxes to an HMI page with right click keystrokes that customise the objects - assigning values, colours and actions etc. Further screen customisation is possible with import for logos and other graphics files to form animated displays.
Each panel is assigned a unique IP address with all set-up and program code information stored and editable in the MPv3’s project file. With no need for separate HMI programming and no additional languages to learn or further interfacing to third party panels, this single-point intuitive programming approach can significantly reduce development timescales, reduce costs and make faster time to market possible for motion and machine automation applications.
The UNIPLAY panels feature bright high contrast TFT displays with 65536 colours. With a power requirement of 24Vdc (±20%) and an operating range from 0 to 50°C, the durable panels are designed for industrial use and supplied for both VESA and front panel mounting. The sealed front bezel is NEMA 4/IP65 rated and suitable for washdown use.
Built-in power isolation technology and conformance to European CE requirements ensures reliable use in noisy environments. In addition to the Ethernet port, the panels include RS232/485 and USB host and client ports for further communications possibilities and an SD Card slot is available for program storage or upload where required. The full featured panel also includes a built-in speaker and an audio line out.
Trio Motion's MC4 Motion Coordinators are advanced motion and machine controllers with latest technology I/O, fieldbus expansion and feedback features that are characterised by the ability for use with a wide choice of drive manufacturers servo or stepper technologies, allowing OEMs and machine builders’ complete freedom to choose their preferred drive supplier.
The range includes smaller controllers for less complex machine control applications up to 4-servo/5-stepper axis, with the modular and expandable MC464 available for up to 64 axes of precisely synchronised 64-bit servo motion.
All MC4 Motion Coordinators may be programmed with multi-tasking TrioBASIC or IEC 61131-3 languages and the range is supported with free support software including CAD2Motion and G-code interpreters as well as an ActiveX utility for direct connection to and from host applications using Microsoft Visual programming languages.
