The new service does not replace the free site surveys still routinely offered from one of the company’s technical sales team when replacement equipment is being considered. In this instance, the advice provided is based on best practice in the industry drawing from Rittal’s comprehensive catalogue of solutions, from racks to power distribution and climate control systems for optimal performance.
Demand based cooling and monitoring
Rittal has also introduced a new electronically commutated (EC) speed control, compatible with larger models from the TopTherm EC fan-and-filter unit range. It can be used to reduce noise output of EC fan-and-filter units, as well as reducing energy consumption through the ability to control the speed of up to four units.
Cooling demand - and hence the required fan speed – is determined by comparing the sensed temperature inside the enclosure with the set-point temperature on the
device, from +5 °C to +55 °C.
Rittal's EC speed control is also able to monitor the status of the fan. The unit provides a local visual display of operating status and incorporates an alarm relay for the remote
monitoring of over-temperature, fan defect, cable break and sensor failure.
