Rapid Manufacturing conference registration underway

18 June 2007

Rapid News Publications plc, organiser of TCT 2007, has announced that registration for the conference being held 26th–27th September 2007 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, is now open. The first 50 delegates to book onto the Rapid Manufacturing Conference will benefit from a 33% reduction, reducing the price of the two-day event to £199. Prospective delegates can register online at www.tctshow.com, inserting the code TCT7706 when prompted in the booking process.

The Rapid Manufacturing (RM) Conference will focus on actual applications of RM from the global marketplace, and will also address the real issues of implementation. Joe Ferry, Head of Design at Virgin Atlantic, will deliver the keynote address on the opening day of the conference - which will focus on the importance of today’s design engineers embracing new and forward-thinking technologies such as RM. Other industry figures to present papers include Geoff McFarland, Renishaw plc; Terry Wohlers, Wohlers Associates; Dan Johns, Airbus UK; and Tim Steward, Contour Premium Aircraft Seating.

A panel session will feature at the start of day two, featuring some of the most notable experts from the RM industry - giving delegates the opportunity to openly discuss issues that they would like addressed.

A new addition for 2007 is the pre-conference tutorial “The Digital Age”, which has been designed for those not familiar with Rapid Manufacturing (RM) technologies. Hosted by Graham Tromans, Chairman RPMA/Loughborough University, this 90-minute session starts at a basic Rapid Prototyping orientation level, maps out the next logical steps to RM, discusses what RM actually means, the systems in the marketplace that offer RM, and why it's a serious consideration for industry. This pre-conference tutorial is free to all conference delegates and is being held the evening before the conference on the 25th September at 19:30, in the conference headquarters hotel — the Hilton Coventry.

The full two-day delegate package includes all refreshments, lunches, delegate folder, proceedings, pre-conference tutorial and invitation to the evening reception. Starting at 18:30 on 26th September, the evening reception will include dinner, jazz band and RPM art gallery.
