New vacuum pumps are compact, quiet and energy efficient
26 July 2015
Busch has introduced the first model of a new series of screw vacuum pumps: the COBRA NX 0450 A. Thanks to its screw profile, the COBRA NX is substantially more energy efficient and economical than comparable vacuum pumps.

The new screw profile is self-cleaning, making it highly resistant to particles and steam. Its compact dimensions and low noise levels mean it can be almost anywhere, including workstation areas.
The new pumps were developed for applications demanding high pumping speeds throughout the working range 1000 to 0.1mbar. The dry-running screw vacuum technology requires no operating fluids in the compression chamber, so avoiding contamination by pumped gases. Consequently, maintenance tasks such as oil and filter replacement are not required, and servicing work is restricted to gearbox oil changes at long intervals
The COBRA NX is powered by an energy-efficient IEC standard motor, with frequency control available as an option. A Panda or Puma Roots vacuum pump may be added as a backing pump using a simple flange connection, creating a compact vacuum unit with an extended performance range.
