Software allows for 3DS-file import

21 June 2007

Materialise NV, who specialise in software development for the rapid prototyping and manufacturing (RP&M) industry, has released Magics 11.1. In this new version of Magics software, Materialise has focused on enhancing user-friendliness, stability and power, allowing RP&M professionals to work more efficiently to significantly increase their productivity.

Magics 11.1 is more user-friendly and stable then before. Many issues have been resolved and there have been improvements in the Base, Support Generation, SmartSpace and RapidFit modules. In addition, several new features have been added to aid Magics’ user-friendliness.

It is now possible to import 3DS-files (which are very common in the architecture and animations industry)into Magics software; and parts designed in 3D Studio can be imported directly into Magics, including their textures.

Magics software now offers a direct link to Objet 3D printers. Magics RP has been extended with an Objet module, allowing Objet users to benefit from Magics RP’s powerful tools, while including all Objet specific parameters. Parts can now also be sent straight to the Objet machine.
