19in racks delivered fully assembled

Surtech Distribution, the enclosures and accessories specialist, has invested in specially-designed delivery vans which can carry large racking systems vertically - up to 47U high - eliminating any chance of products becoming damaged during transportation.

The service is especially appropriate for 19in rack products, such as the Imrak 1400 series. Surtech Distribution has full assembly facilities at its Andover premises, so racks can be supplied fully assembled and configured with accessories. However, without specially-adapted transportation, large racks often have to be transported on their side - making them vulnerable to extensive damage. The alternative is to deliver the racks in a flat pack or partially assembled state, requiring substantial assembly effort, time and cost on the part of the customer.

Mike Johnson, sales and marketing director, commented: “Having our own, purpose-built vehicles means that the whole process, from assembly to delivery, is under our control, so we remove all worries from our customers - they can be assured that they will receive a fully-assembled product configured to their specifications, in perfect condition, where and when they wanted it. More, all our vehicles are fitted with tail lifts which makes off-loading very easy. The largest system we have shipped so far is a 42U x 3bay enclosure.”

The cost-effective, nationwide service will be of interest to any customer who uses tall or multi-bay racking systems and is concerned about transportation damage.
