Carpet tape approved by Boeing

Scapa has announced that 4928 is now on the qualified products list of the material specification BMS 5-133E, type IV, class 3, meaning it is now an approved carpet tape by Boeing. Scapa 4928 has already been approved by Airbus.

Scapa 4928 is a self-extinguishing double sided tape based on a fire retardant polyester cloth, coated on both sides with a flame retardant rubber based adhesive system (adhesive group NC). It also produces no or hardly any smoke when on fire. Therefore, this product is extremely suitable for carpet fitting applications in all forms of public transport and public buildings. Scapa also produce a reverse wound version which can be applied directly onto the carpet by the manufacturer.

Scapa 4928 also conforms to:

- Flammability requirements of FAR/JAR/CS 25.853 (a) APP. F Pt I(a)(1)(ii)
- Smoke density requirements of AIRBUS norm ABD0031 para. 7.3.2.
- Toxic gas emission requirements of AIRBUS norm ABD0031 para. 7.4.
