    Government invests in development and demonstration of carbon abatement technologies(10/02/2012)

    The government is to provide grant funding totalling nearly £3 million to four collaborative projects that will develop and demonstrate technologies to tackle CO2 emissions from power plants and energy-intensive industries. In addition, ten feasibility studies into ideas that could significantly contribute to CO2 abatement will share an additional £650,000 of government support. All the studies will be led by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

    UK’s first open access station for hydrogen-powered vehicles is launched(21/09/2011)

    The UK’s first open access hydrogen vehicle refuelling station has been officially opened at Honda’s manufacturing facility in Swindon. Built and operated by BOC, the venture is the result of a partnership between Honda, BOC and economic development company Forward Swindon. The new station is open to anyone developing or using hydrogen-powered vehicles, filling at both 350bar and 700bar - the two standard filling pressures adopted by the world’s major vehicle manufacturers.

    Low carbon vehicles 'already satisfy our daily needs' says TSB(12/09/2011)

    The Technology Strategy Board has released analysis of data collected from a UK-wide demonstrator programme involving 340 ultra-low carbon vehicles. A range of vehicle types, including high performance cars and small city runabouts, were driven by real users making everyday journeys. The findings collected from on-board computers and face-to-face surveys reveal that participants in the trial met the challenges of switching to an ultra low carbon vehicle with ease.
