Siemens adds new managed Ethernet switch line

Siemens has expanded its range of managed industrial Ethernet switches with a new product line, Scalance XB-200, which comes with a five year warranty across all three device versions.
The switches provide high data rates - up to 100 Mbps - and multiple functions, including support for both Profinet and Ethernet standards, which users can shift between with ease using the dedicated function.
Scalance XB-200 devices are available in widths of 40mm, 80mm and 120mm. Despite their compact size, Scalance XB-200 switches are robust, certified for use in hazardous areas, flexible - covering distances up to 26km in single mode - and powerful, with the ability to monitor large networks with tools such as Sinema Server.
The devices also incorporate support for Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) security functions such as multicast blocking, loop detection and access control via Radius Server; this allows them to be integrated into existing authentication protocols for total network security.
In the event of an error, diagnostics and network management settings can be accessed via a command line or the web interface of the Scalance XB-200 itself.
