Laser-sintering for low volume users

01 August 2007

The new Formiga P 100 from EOS is an entry-level laser-sintering system that enables low volume users to produce plastic products from CAD data in less than 24 hours. Small enough for siting in practically any production environment, it offers a build envelope of 200mm x 250mm x 330mm and will manufacture small batches or individual products with complex geometries.

A technical innovation of the Formiga P 100 is its ability to build vertical walls with high surface quality. The extremely fine focus diameter of the laser enables wall thickness down to 0.4 mm to be created – ideal for manufacturing small, filigree-like components, such as connectors. The dispensing and recoating system has also been redesigned to increase product quality and reduce powder consumption.
