Heat sink enclosure
01 December 2007
Astrosyn is currently offering the Lawtronics HSK range of extruded aluminium, interlocking heat sink enclosures, which comprises two sliding channels together with end panels. The arrangement enables the electronics to be worked on in situ when the top half of the casing is slid open. The free-standing or 3U rack mount models provide a rugged, low thermal impedance housing for sensitive electronics, standard units being large enough to house a toroidal transformer of up to 100VA.
Eurocard boards are accommodated by internal card guides, enabling power devices to be attached to the heat sink section of the vertical wall with an M3 screw and half nut, with no need for drilling. Two boards can be mounted within the black anodised enclosure, and standard spacers can be used to support heavy components.
Available in 160mm or 220mm lengths, they have a normal wall thickness of 2mm, increasing to 7mm adjacent to power devices. Internal and external M4 nut 'T' slots also provide special mounting facilities.
