Portable, precision temperature calibration
01 January 2008
Unlike traditional field dry wells, Fluke’s new 9140 series field metrology wells (FMWs) offer speed and portability without compromising performance. Suitable for calibrating temperature sensors over the range -25 to +660ºC, FMWs offer stability to ±0.01ºC, radial uniformity to ±0.01ºC, axial uniformity at 40mm to ±0.04ºC, loading to ±0.006ºC, and hysteresis to ±0.015ºC. The units weigh about 7.3kg and will reach 660ºC in less than 15 minutes.
The FMW ‘process’ option has a built-in reference thermometer readout that will accept reference probes with smart 6-pin DIN connectors storing probe characterisation. The built-in reference readout has a second channel that measures resistance, voltage, or 4-20mA current. With every calibration, the process version can automate and document ‘as-found’ and ‘as-left’ data from the reference probe and the unit under test.
