ATEX-approved cable glands

10 January 2008

Anixter Components (formerly Heyco) has introduced a new range of ATEX-approved cable glands for use in hazardous locations (type “e” or “d” according to EN50014, EN50018 and EN50019). The glands fix cables securely in place and are suitable for applications in potentially hazardous areas, including machine apparatus and plant equipment, control and feedback systems, railway vehicles and industrial installations.

The diverse range is available in sizes from M16 to M32, with diameters of three to 25mm, and the glands can operate in a temperature range of -20 to +95ºC. Designed for use in the most demanding applications, all of the glands in the range carry UL, CSA, VDE, CE, Germanischer Lloyd, ATEX and Ex II 2G 1D approvals as well as being sealed to IP68/69K for protection against the ingress of dust and water. They are moulded in UL94V-0 rated Nylon 6,6.
