Segway rolls out smart, lightweight e-scooters

14 August 2017

Segway launches Ninebot by Segway KickScooters, two smart, lightweight e-scooters with enhanced range and speed and a one touch folding system.

Ninebot by Segway ES1 and ES2 KickScooters to be Exhibited at IFA 2017 in Berlin

“Each KickScooter leverages a smartphone app and delivers other convenient features that meet the riding preferences of today’s savvy consumers in distinct target markets,” said Dennis Hardholt, President, Segway Europe B.V. “We’re confident response to our KickScooters will be excellent.”

“We’re excited to serve another rapidly growing consumer market segment with our KickScooters and to introduce these new products at IFA in Europe, one of the world’s largest consumer electronics shows,” said Richard van Santen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Segway Europe B.V. “We invite consumers, retailers and media to visit our booth and experience our wide array of versatile, electric, personal mobility solutions.

ES1 - The ES1 scooter has a maximum speed of 12mph, with a range of approximately 15 miles. It also features an LED digital display, anti-lock brake system and cruise control.

ES2 - The ES2 model can reach a maximum speed of approximately 16mph, with a maximum range of up to 15 miles. Its rear shock absorption ensures a comfortable ride and its customisable ambient and rear lights are not only fun, but allow riders to be seen in low light.

Lightweight, foldable and upgradable

Both KickScooters are lightweight and feature a one touch folding system. They can be easily carried on public transportation or stored in a car, which allows a rider to commute practically or just ride for fun. Riders also have the option to upgrade either e-scooter with an optional second battery. This allows for travel of up to 27 miles, and enables ES2 riders to reach speeds of up to 19mph, travel further and take on slightly steeper inclines. Ninebot by Segway KickScooters will be available in Q4 2017. Specific pricing will be announced at that time.
