Flexible Jaw Coupling Offer Extended Life

01 March 2003

Huco's new in-house manufactured flexible joint couplings range comprises
a resilient polyurethane element between aluminium hubs, an arrangement
that allows high torque transmission with little or no backlash - even
when the shafts are misaligned. A concave pocket in each hub eliminates
edge pressure, protecting the element from wear and ensuring a long
service life. Four sizes provide torque capacities up to 17Nm and speeds
of up to 40,000rpm.

The range includes elements with a choice of three hardness levels, each
being selected to vary the coupling's torsional stiffness and damping
characteristics. All elements have the same degree of chemical, solvent
and oil resistance, and offer good shock and vibration damping. Hubs can
be supplied either bored to customer specification or non-bored.

The new products are complemented by a range of imported flexible jaw
couplings in aluminium and cast iron with running torque up to 3,530Nm.
