Miniature photoelectric sensors
14 August 2008
IMO’s IP67 rated QB series of miniature photoelectric sensors are ideal for a wide range of applications, including those in harsh environments and where frequent wash-downs occur. The QB series includes models with IR, red light and red light laser emissions, all of which have a wide range of functionality, and a common body style for simple mounting. In addition, the QB photoelectric sensors offer users the security of IMO’s three-year guarantee.
The QB range integrates miniature block sensors with diffuse, background suppression, retro reflective, retro reflective for clear material, fibre and through-beam models, enabling it to meet the requirements of the most demanding applications. These include printing, packaging, assembly automation, food and beverage and process. As such, the QB is the ideal product for both high volume original equipment manufacturers and challenging end user applications.
Designed for sensing distances from 60mm to 300mm in diffuse, 1m to 4m in retro reflective, up to 250mm in fibre and 6m in through beam, the QB photoelectric sensors are robust and reliable units that are sealed to IP67 standards to ensure operation in wash-down and harsh environments. Their fully functioned design incorporates three light sources to suit any environment and application, and boasts digital and remote teach adjustment, position sensor with analogue output, and a fast output response for high-speed automated systems.
In addition to high operating standards and flexibility, the QB series is easy to integrate into machinery and equipment, and offers operating safeguards. The miniature QB body, with dual fixing holes, improves space utilisation; while wire orientation, short circuit and polarity protection protect against product damage.
In addition to IMO’s three-year guarantee on the QB range there is CE, UL and cUL approvals on all models, so the QB series offers OEMs the major benefit of compliance across most major markets.
