IP65 watertight aluminium die cast enclosure for electronic instruments improves EMI/RFI shielding

24 June 2021

The 1590WP watertight die-cast enclosure available from BCL Enclosures is manufactured from rugged, die-cast aluminium alloy with lap-joint construction.

Rated to IP65, it completely protects delicate electronic instruments from dust and other particulates, plus prevents the ingress of water even when subjected to powerful jets projected from a nozzle, so enables washing down as well as protection from accidental splashing.  It is suitable for housing electronic instruments and PCBs in multiple applications, ranging from industrial and commercial to agricultural.  Being constructed from die-cast aluminium also improves EMI/RFI shielding of interior electronics.

The 1590WP has a low side wall draft angle of two degrees or less, making the mounting of internal PCBs easier. It is supplied with screws which are threaded into factory-tapped holes. There are two standard finishes available: the unpainted version is vibra finished, which gives a smooth surface with no sharp edges and an attractive appearance; the painted model is in durable satin black polyester powder paint which blends seamlessly into darker surroundings when a less visually-noticeable enclosure is required.  The black satin model is also supplied with matching black screws.

Measurements of the 1590WP enclosure are: length 153mm, width 82mm, height 46mm. The enclosures are priced at £27.03, with discounts available for orders over 50 pieces. A full datasheet and direct online ordering are available at
