Camozzi expands Industry 4.0-ready valve island range

Camozzi Automation has extended its popular range of Industry 4.0 ready Series D valve islands, with the introduction of 2 new sizes: Size 2 (16mm) and Size 5 (10.5mm & 16mm).

Size 2 has been designed especially for applications where a compact solution, combined with a high flow rate is required, whilst Size 5 offers a mix of sizes (10.5mm and 16mm) on a single valve island that offers a common multipole or fieldbus connection. Across the range, Series D now offers flow rates from 250Nl/min up to 2000 Nl/min.
Series D valve islands are a highly versatile solution, allowing expandable pneumatic and electrical functions in restricted spaces. Constructed entirely of aluminium to guarantee high performance, especially in harsh and demanding conditions, the range is Industry 4.0 ready thanks to Camozzi’s advanced CoilVision technology.
CoilVision employs integrated electronics to constantly monitor the operating parameters of the solenoid driving the spool. Data, including power consumption and coil temperature, is automatically analysed and processed by software algorithms to determine the real time health status of the coils.
Results transmitted from the valve island to the PLC or through WLAN to an IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) gateway and onto the Cloud, can be used to predict a potential fault in the coil before it has the opportunity to cause disruption. In addition to the diagnostics being captured on a remote dashboard, the valve body also incorporates blinking LEDs that can indicate a potential fault.
The Series D range’s vast number of electrical connection possibilities allow islands with a variety of valve positions and different pressure zones to be created. Series D fieldbus versions are able to handle both digital and analogue electric input and output signals and can be connected to the main fieldbus protocols (PROFIBUS-DP, PROFINET, CANopen, EtherNET/IP, EtherCAT and IO-Link) through a serial module.
