Relec provides LM series AC-DC converters on short lead times, for reliable networking

16 December 2021

Relec Electronics has recently added Mornsun’s LM series of AC-DC converters to its portfolio. The versatile modules can be used for a wide variety of demanding applications, and – equally important – they are available on short lead times.

Constant and reliable power is required for the IoT and network security, as well as for industrial control and instrumentation and a wide variety of household appliances. A large degree of flexibility is required, not least because designs can be adapted throughout the development cycle, but the reliable provision of power management products has never been more important. As supply chain issues continue, the fact that Mornsun offers extremely competitive lead times – just eight weeks – ensures that a design is not stalled due to power-related products.

The LM series is made up of six models – the LM15, LM25, LM35, LM50, LM75 and LM100 models – with six power ranges (15W, 25W, 35W, 50W, 75W and 100W) and outputs from 5V to 48V.  All models have a universal input from 85V to 305Vac and comply with EN55032 class B for EMC.

The series can support designers to accelerate the design cycle and shorten time to market in some of the most competitive industry sectors. In addition to industrial control and automation, machinery and instrumentation, they are compact to save space in smart grid applications, building control systems, telecommunications, LED street lighting and monitoring energy use on a smart grid.

For network security systems, the LM series modules provide efficient switching control to ensure rapid responses between multiple cameras and sensors in the network, for reliable surveillance in airports, for example.
The LM series converters are fully regulated and have low output ripple and noise characteristics. They have a low standby power of <0.5W to meet energy-efficiency standards in household appliances, such as PCs, TVs and induction cookers, to ensure the equipment withstands high DC input yet consumes little power in operation.

All products are approved to international safety standards including EN/UL61558-1 (industrial safety for power supplies and transformers), EN/UL62368-1 (IT and AV equipment) and EN/UL60335 (household appliances).

All models have 4000Vac input to output isolation, are designed to OVC III and operate across the -30 to +70°C temperature range, under convection cooling conditions. The LM series is also able to operate in harsh environments and can withstand 5G vibration, as well as altitudes up to 5,000m.

All units are supplied with perforated cases and terminal covers and come with a three-year manufacturer’s warranty. Relec also offers the option for conformally coated units and wider customisation, on request.
